Summer Time is Reading Time! summer reading

If you read any amount over the summer, show your reading log to Mrs. Wagner no later than Monday, August 31. We will have a summer reading celebration in September.

Any reading students do over the summer months counts towards their challenge goal for next year.

Step 1: Decide if you are going to keep track of pages, books, or genres.

Step 2: Visit the Grapevine Public Library to check out some books or plan to read ebooks from our GCISD Overdrive digital library on your student device.

Step 3: Pick one tracking sheet. Keep track of how many pages or books you read over the summer on a tracking sheet.

Step 4: Give your summer reading tracking sheet to Mrs. Wagner when school begins in August.

All students who turn in a summer reading tracking sheet will be invited to a Summer Reading Celebration in September!

Reading keeps students from losing academic progress over the summer months! Take advantage of this opportunity to get a head start on next year’s reading challenge and read, read, READ!

Please visit my Summer Reading Smore for more information. Besides the Scholastic program, there are many more reading opportunities in our area. Please visit the GCISD Summer Reading SMORE for booklists, prize opportunities, and more.

I hope you have an amazing summer full of books! See you in August.
