Thank you for an amazing first day of the 2025-26 school year! We recognize that our new dismissal process did not go as we had hoped. Using Design Thinking principles, we try, and sometimes we definitely fail forward. That said, we will be going back to the dismissal process we have used for the past several years. If students are not bus riders or neighborhood walkers, the car line is our preferred method to dismiss our Cubs; we can get it down to 15 minutes with your help! Let's celebrate the best first day of school ever with ice cream! On Wednesday, August 13, join us at Beth Marie's Old Fashioned Ice Cream in Downtown Grapevine, located at 419 South Main Street, from 4:00 to 6:00 pm. Be sure to say you're there to celebrate with Cannon!

Please remember to send your Cub in comfortable clothes and sneakers for their busy school days! Water bottles and nut-free snacks are also a must to make each day successful!

Please make sure to read all the information below for a smooth and safe transition back.
Our number one priority is school safety; We expect our Cannon families to follow all procedures below. Please note that we will be dismissing our car line scholars from inside this year rather than bringing them outside to sit in the heat. #keep CUBSsafe

We will welcome all Cannon Cubs Back to School on Wednesday, August 13, for our first day of school! The alarm clock will come quickly - prepare for the adjustment! Remember, the start time for GCISD elementary schools is 7:35. Doors will open at 7:20, with breakfast available until 7:35. Cubs are tardy after 7:35.

Any parent or guardian wanting to walk their Cub in on the first day of school must have their Driver's License on hand and sign in to the security kiosks before entering the building. Please plan ahead - checking in on the first day will take time! You are welcome to stop by between 8:00 and 3:00 on Monday, August 11, or Tuesday, August 12, to print your badge for quick entry! Per our amazing safety procedures, we will be checking badges and Driver's licenses, so be ready 😊!
